Smooth curves...no cellulite!

Sewing smooth curves can be tricky.  I have a few helpful hints.  Follow along.

  1. Freezer paper is your friend.
  2. Shorter stitch length makes easing around a curve easier.
  3. Pinking shears save a lot of "snips".
  4. A point turner helps smooth out the seam.
  5. Sewing the curve before you cut on the curve line makes sewing life so much easier.

Stitching using a 18 stitches per inch setting following the curve of the freezer paper.

Trimmed with pinking shears and clipping into "cleavage" before removing freezer paper.

Now all that's left to do is remove the freezer paper (save it you can re-use it), turn right side out and using your point turner, smooth the curve and press.
